Extended Description
SMART Frederick. Private, M2/077783, 9th Motor Ambulance Convoy, Royal Army Service Corps. Died of dysentery, 24th June 1916, aged 21 years at Military Hospital, Imtarfa, Malta. The son of Albert and Mary Ann Smart, of 175 Inverness Place, Roath Park, Cardiff.

GOWANS James. Private, SS/20878, 28th Labour Coy, Royal Army Service Corps, Died 26th June 1916. Born on the 17th April 1865 at Paisley, Renfrewshire to Robert Gowns and Jane nee Boyd and lived at Derby. In 1911 he was living at 85 Roe Street, Derby with his wife Elizabeth nee Haynes and children. His occupation was given as a compositer. His widow Eliza, children Marion, Nellie and Isabella were granted a war gratuity on the 9th October 1916.

TYSON William. Private, 23518, 14thThe King’s Liverpool Regiment. Died 26th June 1916 at Military Hospital, St Patricks, Malta, of appendicitis, which he fell ill with while in action at Salonika. His widow Elizabeth A was granted a war gratuity on the 14th November 1916.
