Son of Oswald Halford, husband of Lillian Rhoda Halford (nee Holder).
Born 1901 at Honeybourne, Gloucestershire to Oswald and Amy of (1911) Hinton Cross, near Evesham, Worcestershire
His father served as Sapper 161992 with the 30th Railway Labour Battalion, Royal Engineers. Joining up on the 28 April 1916 aged 46, serving in France and demobilised to Class Z 18 March 1919. He had previously served as Private 2884, 2nd Manchester Regiment for 12 years. Discharged from the army time had expired
