Gunner Frederick BRAZIER No. 204733 R.A. and T.C. Command Depot Royal Garrison Artillery
Died 26 November 1918 aged 34 at Catterick Military Hospital.
Son of Charles and Daisy Mabel Brazier, husband of Ellen Brazier, 17 Lower Street, Middlewich. Gratuity to his widow, Helen, 30 June 1919.
Some notes from his army records.
He enlisted 9 December 1915 aged 32 years and 1 month and was posted to the army reserve to await mobolisation. He resided at Percival Terrace, Middlewich, occupation, labourer. On 26 February 1918 he was mobilised and joined No 2 Depot, Royal Garrison Artillery, Preston.
He was married to Miss Helen Wilding at Middlewich on 20 September 1914. At some stage he was posted to the BEF in France where on 8 October 1918 he received a gunshot wound to his left leg and was treated at 5 General Hospital, Rouen. On 13 October 1918 he was invalided to England on Hospital Ship, Carisbrooke Castle and admitted into St Lukes War Hospital, Leeds. At some stage he was discharged from hospital. On 22 November 1918 he was admitted to Catterick Military Hospital suffering from headache and aching all over his body. He died 26 November 1918 at 12-10 noon in this hospital from Influenza and Broncho Pneumonia.
