NICHOLS, Frederick Arthur. Seregant, Wireless Operator, Air Gunner R/104146, Royal Canadian Air Force died 30th January 1944 aged 22. He was the son of John M. Nichols and Vera V. Nichols, of Belmont, Nova Scotia, Canada.
(Extract from Military aircraft crashes in the south west Midlands)
30/01/1944 Wellington DF566 of 22 OTU caught fire in the air and crashed at Ladbrooke. F/O L W Matthews DFM RCAF, F/O G H Schlitt RCAF, P/O C W Pearce RCAF, P/O E A Davis RCAF, Sgt F A Nichols RCAF, Sgt C.A. Bannon RCAF and Sgt W A Hobson RCAF were all killed. F/O Matthews had completed a tour with 150 Squadron.
He is at rest in Stratford on Avon Cemetery, Warwickshire.
