The inscription on this window which is inside Leicester Cathedral, reads as follows -

In affectionate remembrance of Lt Col Francis William Reader who departed life at Pietermaritzburg Natal on the 10th November 1898. This window is dedicated by Officers past and present, N.C.O's and Men of the 2nd Battalion Leicestershire regiment and by Officers who served with him in the 3rd Battalion and 1st Volunteer Battalion Leicestershire Regiment
Additional information -
Son of William and Jane Dorethea Elmhirst and husband of Alice Margaret Elmhirst, niece of his mother.
