Florence Katherine COORE-MEIN. Wife of Major Frederick COORE-MEIN 1st Shropshire Light Infantry and only daughter of George Owen, Esquire of Park Issa, Oswestry England. She was married at Oswestry, Shropshire 13 November 1886. Her son Owen Coore Mein was born 28 July 1887. She died in Malta 5 August 1887.

Additional information about her husband Frederick Coore Mein -

Born 1850 at King’s Norton, Worcestershire. Son of Major General George Mein and Marianne nee Coore. 1851 residing with his parents and sister at 70 Harborne Road Edgbaston, Warwickshire. 21 November 1877 he married Jane Frend at Borrisnafarney, Ireland. 1881 residing with his wife, Jane at Manor House, Edgmond, Shropshire occupation, Captain 53rd Regiment and 2 Shropshire Regiment Volunteer Corps, his wife died 1884. He remarried 13 November 1886 in Shropshire to Florence Katherine Owen. She too died August 1887 in Malta. 1891 a widower aged 40 retired Major residing with his children at Abbey Lodge Barnsdall, Kent. About March 1892 he married Caroline Lavinia Calland at Marylebone, London. 1901 residing with his wife and his children at 2 Fons George Road, Wilton, Somerset. He died in 1905 at Taunton, Somerset

Frederick Coore Mein of Wild Oak Cottage, Trull, Somersetshire retired Major in H.M. Army died 29 December 1905. Administration at Taunton, 21 February 1906 to Caroline Lavinia Mein, widow.

Owen COORE-MEIN. Born on 28 July 1887 in Valletta, Malta, baptised 9 August 1887. Son of Florence Katherine and Major Frederick Coore-Mein of, Adjutant, Shropshire (Rifle Volunteers) Shropshire Light Infantry residing at St John's House Malta. In 1911 aged 23 he was boarding at 53 Preston Avenue, Newport, Monmouthshire, occupation civil engineer with a Railway Company. He passed away 8 February 1961 at Bridgenorth, Shropshire. He was residing prior to death at Innage Houst, St Leonard, Bridgenorth, Shropshire and effects went to his widow Elizabeth, nee Rogerson who he married about December 1914.
He served in country prior to and also in the Great War.

London Gazette dated 3 August 1909 -
1st Battalion, The Monmouthshire Regiment. The undermentioned officers to be Second Lieutenant. Owen Coore Mein to be Second Lieutenant. Dated 21st June, 1909
Great War as Lieutenant, and later Acting Captain, Royal Engineers. Retiring 21 May 1923. to his home at Roadlands, Charlton Kings, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
