Enlisted 29 January 1921 as apprentice Engine Room Artificer. When he became 18 years, he enlisted for 12 years 13 March 1923. Promoted to Chief Engine Room Artificer 1 June 1940 on HMS St Angelo. Married 22 June 1931 aged 26 years to Florence Lilian Pippitt. Occupation sailor on HMS Portsmouth. Died through enemy action 11 June 1940.
