My great uncle.

Ernest George HOBBY. Private 4406, King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, stationed at the Depot, formerly 164589, Royal Horse and Royal Field Artillery. Died of wounds on the 8th November 1917 at 1/5th Northern General Hospital, Leicester. . Son of Henry and Martha Kate Hobby, of Moorslade, Falfield. Gloucestershire. Born at Lower Stone on the 19th August 1898 and in 1911 he was living with his parents and siblings at Chestnut Cottage, Lower Stone, Gloucestershire. His mother was granted a war gratuity on the 3rd May 1918, revised on the 14th November 1919. At rest in All Saints churchyard, Stone, Gloucestershire.
