Edward Samuel BRITTAIN. Major, Royal Field Artillery. Served in France 29 September 1915 discharged from the army 11 December 1922 to Kassala, Sudan. Residence in Englan, Orient Lodge, Buxton, Derbyshire. Died 22 September 1923 aged 31 at Kassala Sudan. Son Samuel Swann and Emma. Commemorated on a memorial in St Peter's Church, Fairfield, near Buxton, Derbyshire.
