Edward Edwin TOMSETT

Extended Description
TOMSETT Edward Edwin. Stoker 1st Class, 296234, Hood Battalion, Royal Naval Division. Born 21st October 1880 in Nunhead, London to Alfred and Annie. In 1881 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 3 Brighton Road, Kingston on Thames, Surrey. Husband of Edith May Tomsett nee MacMillan, of 167 Corporation Street, West Ham, London. Enlisted 26th November 1900 onto HMS Pembroke II, occupation prior to enlistment, Labourer Died 17th June 1915 aged 34 years in a hospital in Malta from a gunshot wound to his back which he received in action in the Dardenelles.

At rest in Plot C Grave 253 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta

N.B. Naval and Census records show surname as TOMPSETT. He used the surname of TOMSETT for his marriage.
