His brother, Charles William was Gunner 148150, Royal Garrison Artillery, he survived the great war. Charles's son, Reginald, Engine Room Artificer 4th Class, P/MX717982, HMS Sanguine, Royal Navy, died 1st October 1942 aged 24. Son of Charles William and Alice of Snyde Green, Stoke on Trent. He is buried in Londonderry City Cemetery, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
