Located in the churchyard wall near the entrance into the grounds of the St. Michael and All Angels the parish church
In proud memory of the Diseworth men who fell in the Great War and as a thankoffering to God for the safe return of so many. This tablet was erected: Four of the church bells were
recast and rehung: A fifth bell was added
The following names are of those who made the supreme
sacrifice, the other names on the memorial are of those who
returned and with no disrespect intended I have not added them
1914-1918
ALLCROFT J F Private 9435, Leicestershire Regiment died in England 31st May 1915 aged 21. Buried at Diseworth Churchyard, Leicestershire
BARNES Harry 6th Lancers, killed in action in France 14th July 1916 aged 27. Commemorated on his Grandparents memorial at Disemore Churchyard, Leicestershire
