Flight Lieutenant (Navigator) Derek Stuart LACEY B.Sc. (Hons) 1964-1998 Killed whilst flying a Tornado F3 with 29 (F) Squadron on the 15th June 1998. Remembered with love and pride by family and friends
Commemorated on a memorial plaque at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire. At rest Kirkstead Cemetery, Woodhall Spa, Lincoln

He was on a training flight as Navigator with two other Tornado's off Flamborough Head near Bridlington, Yorkshire,
Flt Lt Lacey had been stationed at RAF Coningsby for six years.

He was accompanied by Squadron Leader, Pilot, William Michael Vivian, 33, of Cheshire and was and experienced pilot who had been based at RAF Coningsby since August 1992.
The crew did not eject and were both killed.
