Dennis Raymond WRIGHT. Sergeant, Pilot 741930, 10 Squadron, Royal Air Force (VR). Born 1920 to Frederick Edward and Elsie Charlotte Wright, nee Price of Ilkeston. He was 2nd pilot in an Armstrong Whitworth Whitley Bomber, P4993 which was on flying operations to Le Havre. 14 October 1940 the bomber struck a barrage balloon cable near Weybridge, Surrey and crashed with the loss of the crew, five in total. Dennis was aged 20 years.

At rest in Park Cemetery, Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

Wireless Operator / Air Gunner - Sgt Bert Llewellyn Henry RAF (551737).
