- David John SMYTH. Rifleman 18803, B Coy, 13th Royal Irish Rifles.
His parents were married 2 April 1895 at Dundonald Parish Church. His father used Smith as his surname.
Born 22 August 1897 at 24 Bridge Street, Comber, County Down, Ireland to Hugh and Annabella nee Rea
Irish 1901 census have Smith and mother named Isabella with his parents at 24 Bridge Street, Comber.
Irish 1911(smith) with his parents and siblings, mother is named as Anna Bella all at 23 Bridge Street, Comber.
Killed in action 01 July 1916 aged 19. His father Hugh was granted a war gratuity 11 December 1917 revised 22 December 1919.
Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
His brother David was killed in action 1 July 1916.
