- David Edwards USHER. Ordinary Seaman J104705 Royal Navy on HMS Minerva. Born 9 March 1906 at Whitby Yorkshire to Francis and Sophia Usher nee Eglon. Enlisted 28 October 1921 as Boy Class II on HMS Ganges civilian occupation, labourer. Died 5 December 1924 aged 19 in Royal Naval Hospital, Malta of a fracture of base of skull and contusion of brain as the result of a fall from a bastion in Valetta . His mother Sophia was informed of his death the same day. His father was called Francis.
