Extended Description
David James Andrew ARMSTRONG. Residing at Dundonald, Belfast with his wife, Louise.

Enlisted 1958 aged 16 years as Private 23669755, 245th (Ulster) Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment RA (TA) Sunnyside Street, Ormeau Road, Belfast. In 1960 he left this unit and enlisted into the Royal Corps of Signals the same year at Loose Lines, Catterick Camp, North Yorkshire. When he passed out after training, he left the army. 1973 he joined 7th Ulster Defence Regiment and was based at the Battalion Headquarters Palace Barracks, Holywood, Belfast, Northern Ireland, also stationed at Newtownards, County Down and Ladas Drive, Casltereagh, Belfast. Did his training at Ballykinlar Army Base, County Down, Northern Ireland also at Plasterdown Training Camp, Devon. He left the UDR with the rank of Acting Sergeant in 1977.

A very good and loyal friend.

Our dear friend David passed away this evening, 7th December 2019 at 10.50 pm in Belfast City Hospital, from a battle he could not win.

He arrived into the world on 4 June 1942, residing with his parents at Castlereagh Road, Belfast. His funeral was held 13 December 2019 at Roselawn Crematorium, Belfast.

Rest in peace mate, see you some day at muster in the sky.
