Extended Description: D606 Eric Henry ASHMORE. Able Seaman C/JX126869, Royal Navy on HMS Royal Oak. Born 29 October 1910 at Scarborough, Yorkshire to Charles Henry and Lilian Beatrice Ann Ashmore nee Imeson. 1911 residing with his parents at 2 Mill Street, North Marine Road, Scarborough. Enlisted 28 April 1926 on HMS Impregnable, occupation prior to enlistment, garage boy. Died 7th May 1931 at Royal Naval Hospital, Malta aged 20 years of cerebrospinal meningitis.
At rest in Plot D Grave 606 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
