Crimean War Memorial2

Viking, I have been trying in get some more info on this Cannon, but no one is coming forward with any from the local area (I only live about a mile from it), do you have any information at all on this Memorial.

I think this gun was one of those Russian Guns captured at sebastopol in 1853. There were a number of them captured and returned to the UK as trophys. A lot of the guns were scrapped for the metal during WWII, for example Birkenhead Park on the Wirral had two that were scrapped during the war.
As far as detailed information about this gun is concerened....well its hard to come by, but I will keep looking.

I had a look on the Huntingdon council web site, they show picture of the cannon but no information. I sent them an email over 4 weeks ago asking if they had any info, still no reply.
One can only wait!
