Bogdan Bielkiewicz. Pilot Officer, Pilot P/0687, Polish Air Force, 306 Fighter Squadron at RAF Tern Hill Shropshire.
Born 31 August 1913 at Godlewo Poland.
On February 13th 1941 he was flying a Hurrican T3069. and returning to base and found the airfield was suddenly covered by fog. On approach to land, P/O Bohdan Bielkiewicz hit the deck and was killed instantly he was aged 27 years.

Bohdan Bielkiewicz F/O, born 31.08.1913. In 1937 graduated from Polish Air Force Academy in Deblin. In September 1939 assigned to Training Unit. Evacuated via Romania to France. In June 1940 went to England and assigned to 306th Sqdn.

Tern Hill

Section composed of F/Lt. KENNARD, P/O. BIELKIEWICZ, P/O. JANKOWSKI took of at 16,05 with orders to patrol COVENTRY. At 16,10 hours ordered to vector 90 degrees for 5 minutes. Then it received vector 220 degrees then 260 degrees and then at 16.40 hours one E/A sighted flying N.E. (H.E. 111 or Ju.88). E/A was 1,000 feet below the section, turned steeply round headed S.W. over BIRMINGHAM again. This section approached, E/A turned W section carried out an astern chase and when closed to range attacked. Rear gunner was silenced carried out their attacks.All sections saw their rounds hit the E/A but it was not able to confirm the result because E/A dived into the clouds. Section saw starboard engine reduced to tick over speed and No. 3 saw smoke from this engine also with much reduced forward speed.
Yellow 1 (F/Lt. KENNARD) approached first and fired one long burst (all rounds) from the distance of 250 yards,
Yellow 2 (P/O. JANKOWSKI) fired one long burst (165 rounds per gun) from 350 yards, Yellow 3 fired three sharp bursts (175 rounds per gun) from 300 yards.
Yellow 3 (P/O. BIELKIEWICZ) had two bullets holes in left wing, one large bullet hole in the right of the cockpit close to the engine, one bullet hole through the throttle control, one bullet hole through port tyre, one bullet through the pilots seat. In spite of this he landed correctly without any damage to the aircraft. The section landed at 17.05 hours.

13 November 1940 He111 P-4, 5./Kampfgeschwader55, Gl+GN Werk Nr 2994 (Gunner) Fw. Karl Hauber (67020/51) killed. Attacked by fighters during a sortie to Bristol. Returned to Chartres aerodrome.

There was one operational patrol during the day of three aircraft lasting for 10 minutes. At night 7 aircaft carried out single operational patrols in the course of which P/O. Bielkiewicz (Hurricane I P3069 UZ-Y) crashed and was killed.
