Flight Lieutenant Colin ARMSTRONG. No. 4231715 Red Arrows pilot at RAF Little Rissington.
Died 20 January 1971 aged 26.

Red Arrow Pilot, killed when two Gnats collided mid-air at Kingham, Oxfordshire along with Flt Lt Euan Perreaux, Flt Lt John Lewis, Flt Lt John Haddock. Colin joined the team in October 1970 and it was his first display season He was laid to rest 26 January 1971.

Two Gnat T.1 of the CFS "Red Arrows" aerobatic display team (XR545 and XR986) collided and crashed during a synchronised pair display practice at Kemble, Gloucestershire. Mid-Air Collision between synchro pair. Wings clipped during an opposition manoeuvre `Roulette'.

At rest at Little Rissington St Peter Churchyard, Gloucestershire.
