Braat Overvalwagen
KNIL (1940)
Armoured car – 25 built
The KNIL (Koninklijk Nederlandsch-Indisch Leger) used far more vehicles than the Homeland Royal Army back in the Netherlands. The territories to defend in the East Indies were much more extended and the Japanese threat all too present. Two models of the Overvalwagen (assault vehicles) were used, one by the Dutch East Indies Homeguards (Stadswacht) and another by the KNIL. The latter were apparently produced in several versions from mid to late 1940 at several locations. The production figures are elusive.
