Died from wounds received in action 18 July 1943 while serving with 93rd Bomb Squadron.
Laid to rest 19 July 1943 in Plot E. Grave 22 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
Now at rest in Allegheny County Memorial Park Allison Park, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA

His brother, Lieutenant Daniel A Sipe Jr was shot down a year later over the North Sea while serving with the 367 Bomber Group. A fighter pilot, his body has never been recovered. His other brother Lieutenant H Donald Sipe came safely out of World War II. He was a German prisoner of war for two years after the Flying Fortress on which he served as a navigator was shot down.
