Wilfred BRIGGS. Able Seaman, D/SSX22704, Royal Navy on HMS Illustrious, Born on the 9th February 1920 at Whitefield, Lancashire to Stanley and Jane Briggs, of Unsworth, Lancashire. Died 90 General Hospital, Imtarfa, Malta on the 14th January 1941 aged 20 from wounds received when the ship was hit again by enemy bombs during a blitz.
