HOUGHTON Charles William. Private, 22351, 9th, Worcestershire Regiment, died of wounds 30th November 1915.
Born 1892 in the Registration District of Birmingham
The following may be him. Baptised 24 February 1892 to Frederick and Hannah (k/a Ann) Houghton.who at the time of his baptism were residing at No 3, back of 62 Ingleby Street, Ladywood, Birmingham.
1901-1911 with his parents and siblings at 47 Eyre Street, Birmingham. Occupation 1911, labourer.
In 1912 in the R.D. of Birmingham he married Rose Stanier
At the time of his death his widow and children were residing in Block 4, 18 Stour Street, Birmingham. Their children were Adeline Doroth Houghton born 9 February 1913 and Lillian Rose 6 December 1914.
His service record did not survive the London Blitz 7 Sept 1940 – 11 May 1941
AMES David Edward. Private 1206, B Coy, 5th Royal Welch Fusiliers. Died of Nephritis (inflammation of the kidneys), on the 30th November 1915, aged 25 years. The son of John Thomas and Elizabeth Ames, of 4 Green Bank, Greenfield, Holywell, Flintshire.
WELLS William George. Private, 23639, 11th Manchester Regiment, died 1st December 1915 at St Patricks Hospital, Malta from wounds or disease received while on active service at Gallipoli. Born at Salisbury, Wiltshire and lived at Oldham, Lancashire. Husband of Sarah Jane (nee Atherton) who was awarded a war gratuity on the 12th April 1916, revised on the 23rd August 1919. In 1911 he was living with his wife at 38 Abson Street, and he was by occupation an iron grinder.
(Wills and Admin, Ancestry) - He lived at 38 Abson Street, Chadderton, Oldham, died in St Patricks Hospital, Malta. His effects went to his widow, Sarah Jane.
