Charles Victor TRAYHURN. Lance Corporal G/2032, 8th Royal Sussex Regiment who died of wounds at Trones Wood in the battle of the Somme on the 21st July 1916 aged 27. He was interred at Etaples, France. He was the youngest son of George and Elizabeth nee Maishment of the Plain, Thornbury. Commemorated on his parents memorial in St Mary's Church, Thornbury, Gloucestershire. At rest in Etaples Military Cemetery, France.
