He was born 1850, baptised 18 August 1850 at South Stoneham, Hampshire to John and Martha Randall, nee East.
1861 with his parents and siblings on Sholing Common, Hound, Hampshire.
1871 with his widowed mother at 28 Charlton Cottage, Chapel Street, South Stoneham Hampshire, occupation, apprentice carpenter.
He was married in 1880 at Medway, Kent to Margaret Eliza (registered as Maggie) Cooling.
1881 he was Stationed as Staff Sergeant, Royal Engineers, and living with his wife Maggie at 66, Mill Street, Gillingham, Kent.
He died at Malta 10th August 1885 aged 35.
This stone was erected by his affectionate wife as a last token of love and respect.
