Charles FODEN. Private 242284, Labour Corps. Born 1883 to Herbert and Eliza Foden of High Street, Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire. 1891-1901 residing with his widowed mother and siblings at High Street, Moreton in Marsh. 1911 residing at Oxford Street, Moreton in Marsh, occupation, Draper. Husband of Mary Ann Mead, nee Lines who he married 23 August 1911 at Roath Park Congregational Church, Cardiff. He enlisted into the Royal Garrison Artillery 3 March 1915 at Stow on the Wold, Gloucestershire aged 33 years and 1 month, occupation, draper. He was posted to the Army reserve to await mobilization. 26 January 1917 he was called to the colours at the Citadel, Plymouth as Gunner 135950. 19 June 1917 he was posted to Signal Department, Spike Island, Cork, Ireland. 28 July 1917 he was transferred as Private 242284, ,542 Home Service (H.S.) Employment Coy, Labour Corps on Spike Island. He was medical discharged to pension on the 5 March 1919, disability, Bronchial catarrh. He died at his home 15 January 1920 aged 37 of lobar pneumonia
