Champagne L'ESTRANGE. Late, First Captain, Royal Artillery died 5th March 1900 aged 67 at the Seamens Hospital, Floriana, Malta.
Born 3 May 1832 at Kilmore, Cavan, Ireland. He was the son of Sir George Burdett L'Estrange and Louisa Vincentia nee Stepney and husband of Frances Mary nee Fairbanks. At rest in Ta Braxia Cemetery, Malta.
(Wills and Admin, Ancestry) He lived at at Linden Villa, Edgar Road, Winchester, his effects went to his widow Frances Mary.
London Gazette dated 15th December 1868. Second Captain Champagne" L'Estrange to be Captain, vice Brevet-Major Greene. Dated 19th November 1868
