ARNOLD Bernard. Boy, J/30551 Royal Navy on HMS Russell. Born 28 November 1898 at Walmer Kent enlisted 28 April 1914 on HMS Ganges occupation prior to enlistment, message boy. Died 29th April 1916 aged 18 years at hospital in Malta from burn and gas poisoning sustained when HMS Russell was sunk by a mine. His mother of 93 Campbell Road Lower Walmer Deal was informed of his death. At rest in Plot C Grave 317 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
