Joseph ERRINGTON 2nd Border Regiment (Some notes from what remains of his Army Record Pte 21507 Joined up 6th May 1915 at Carlisle aged 31. Worked as a gardener prior to enlistment and lived with his wife, Mary Elizabeth nee Holmes who he married on the 18th December 1907 at Beetham Church. They had four children Florence, 20/6/1908, Elsie Irene, 19/5/1911, Joseph Henry, 27/6/1913 and Daisy Marion 18/5/1915. He was medically discharged from the army suffering from Deafness and Chronic Bronchitis on the 11th June 1916

John Herbert ION Royal Field Artillery (Some notes from what remains of his Army record. He joined up 15th December 1915 aged 29yrs and 1 month, next of kin was his wife, Mabel nee Scott who he married at Beetham church on the21st October 1914. He had served in the Territorial Force 4 Squadron ? for 4 years. Discharged termination of engagement in December 1912. He joined the Royal Field Artillery as Driver 243915 and later was transferred to the Labour Corps as Private 586665 on the 14th May 1918.

He joined up on the 17th July 1916 aged 33 yrs and 11 months, but did not go to the front. He, like George was born in France in 1883 and lived with his parents at 25 Fern Grove, Liverpool. He also worked as a shipping clerk in Liverpool. He first gave his mother as his next of kin then it was changed to his wife, Winifred nee Glynn whom he married on the 17th February 1917 in Liverpool and now was living at "Oriel" 38 Princess Avenue, Liverpool. When he enlisted he was Gunner 2249, Royal Garrison Artillery Depot, Now Bombardier 362649 with the 1/5th Coy Lancashire and Cheshire , Royal Garrison Artillery. He was at Hipsford Battery on the 30th December 1916 and then was posted to 24th Fire Command on the 2nd November 1918 and finally posted to No 2 Royal Garrison Artillery Officers Cadet School as Cadet Bombardier. He was demobilised as Lieutenant on the 12th February 1919 to his home at 25, Fern Grove, Liverpool.

Thomas Scott WEBSTER Gunner Royal Garrison Artillery. Some notes from what remains of his Army record. He joined up on the 5th July 1917 aged 35yrs and 11 months. he lived with his wife Mary Emma nee Cocker who he married at Sheffield Registry Office Sheffield on the 12th October 1911 at 613 Eccelsall Road, Sheffield. He was Gunner 167799 Royal Garrison Artillery. He was discharged to Army reserve from No2 Dispersal Unit, Clipstone on the 2nd April 1919. No record found as to where his served.

Robert William WILLAN Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment (RIP) (Not on any of the war memorials) son of Robert Seed and Hannah of Jiffs Knolts, Brathay, Ambleside, Lancashire He was Private 27470 8th Royal Lancaster Regiment killed in action 29th July 1917 aged 21. He is at rest in Louverval Military Cemetery, Doignies, Nord France
Arnold (Seed) WILLAN Gunner Royal Garrison Artillery (Medal card. Gunner 165209)son of Robert Seed and Hannah, nee Wilkinson of Jiffs Knolts, Brathay, Ambleside, Lancashire Some notes from what remains of his Army record. He enlisted on the 5th June 1917 at Carlisle aged 18yrs and 8 months. Lived with his parents at North Lodge, Dallam Tower, Milnthorpe and works as a chauffeur. He served in France from the 14th November 1917 to 15th April 1918 with the 26 Siege Battery, RGA, then to England . 26th September 1918 sent back to France with the same unit. While in France he suffered from pneumonia and was admitted to 55 General Hospital Boulogne on the 14th March 1918 invalided to England on Hospital ship " Jan Breydell" admitted to 1st Southern General Hospital, Edgbaston, Birmingham on the 15th March, the sent to Military Convalescent Hospital, Derriford Camp, Plymouth. When he was fit for duty he was sent back to France on the 8th October 1918. He was discharged to Class Z (Army reserve) on the 1st March 1919
