James Gregory was my great grandfather. Until the onset of the internet, the family thought he had died, and was buried at Galipoli. My grandfather, James' eldest son Samuel, lived next door to us in Alpha Street in Salford. He never knew his father was buried on Malta. I find it really odd that I know something about James that Sam never did.
But there is a mistake on the caption. James' wife Elizabeth Ellen, my great grandmother did not pass away in 1934 in New Zealand. She continued to live in Salford and I have pictures with her and her three sons. my grandfather Sam, Henry and James. I also have a shot of her with my grandad Sam, my mother Jean, and me - four generations. She passed away in Hope Hospital Salford in 1963.
