B-29 Superfortress, "Fifi"

The world's only flyable B-29, the "Fifi" was in Fargo, ND, in September 2002 to visit the Fargo Air Musuem. They were bringing the plane around on three engines and finally got #4 to start. They were flying to Bismarck, ND, accompanied by a
B-24 Liberator.

I saw Fifi overhead once, it came and visited the Prescott Airport during a show that was going on there. That was awesome to see, but the show stealers were the F-35's either out of Yuma or Hill.

I am so glad you got to see her.

I have yet to see the F-35s. We were on the list for having them based at Gowen Field ANG here in Boise Idaho, but the NIMBYs were pretty vocal.

Right now, we have A-10s, which are very quiet..... Too quiet to follow easily with an afterburning replacement. Any time something ferries through here like Marine Corp F-18s, Air Force F-16s, or F-15s visiting from nearby Mountain Home AFB, the whiners wine about it.

I heard the same thing happened in Tucson, regarding being rewarded with a new mission after the A-10s.
