Augustus CLAPTON. Private CH/2314(S), 1st Royal Marine Light Infantry. 63rd Royal Navy Division died of disease as a prisoner of war in hospital, 15 July 1918 aged 29. Born on the 20th March 1889 at Avening to Sydney and Harriett of Barn Row, Avening. Wills and Admin, Ancestry. He lived at Avening, Gloucestershire and died 15th July 1918 in a War Hospital. His effects went to his mother, who was now a widow. Commemorated on his parents memorial in the Holy Cross churchyard, Avening, Gloucestershire.
