Lieutenant Colonel Arthur Robert BURTON
94th Russell's Infantry. Born 1872 Died 24 January 1918 aged 45.

The eighth of the nine soldier sons of General Edmond Francis Burton and Georgiana Burton of Charlton Kings Glos., husband of Florence Evelyne Hood Burton, of "Trevalga," Lansdowne Parade, Cheltenham, Glos. Entered Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers in 1892; Indian Army, Hyderabad Contingent, 1895. Served in the Tirah Campaign and on Punjaub Frontier, as Cantonment magistrate, Baroda, and Railway magistrate, 1st class, 1908-12; Malakand Movable Column 1914-15, Recruiting Tour and Muscat (Field Service) 1916. Officiating H.B.M. Consul Muscat 1917. Waziristan and Mesopotamia 1918.
