ARTHUR MacDONALD. Private 308336, 1/7th King’s Liverpool Regiment

Born 1891 to Henry Alexander and Margaret Ann MacDonald, nee Miller. 1901 -1911 residing with his parents and siblings at 37 Lorn Street, Hulme, occupation, grocer’s warehouseman.

On the 11 June 1916 he married Clara Borrows at St George Church, Hulme, Manchester. His occupation, Private with the 5th Manchester Regiment. Residence at the time of his marriage was 37 London Street, Hulme with his father, Henry MacDonaldman.

Husband of Clara MacDonald, nee Borrows of 8, Lesmo Street, Harpurhey, Manchester.

Died of wounds in 10 Causality Clearing Station, near Poperinghe, Belgium 1 August 1917 aged 26. His widow was granted a war gratuity 13 December 1917 revised 13 November 1919.

Commemorated on the Borrow’s headstone in Southern Cemetery, Manchester, Lancashire.

At rest in Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
