Extended Description
LAWTON Arthur David. Lance Corporal, 10988, 7th North Staffordshire Regiment. Died 9th August 1915, aged 20 years in Malta from dysentery which he contracted while at Gallipoli. Son of Arthur Barcroft and Fanny Elizabeth Lawton, of 72 Church Street, Burslem, Stoke on Trent. Occupation in 1911 potters mould runner.
Some notes from what remains of his army records.
He enlisted on the 28th April 1914, and joined the New Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment at the depot on the 26th April 1914. He was aged 19 years and 1 month, lived with his parents at 72 Church Street, Burslem and was an apprentice potters placer. He was posted to the Mediterranean on the 26th June 1915, died from dysentery in a hospital in Malta.

COOPER Thomas Pinkney. Private, Deal/3585 (S), Royal Marine Medical Unit, R.N. Div., died from disease 5th August 1915 in Malta.
Born 19th September 1880 at Whitby, Yorkshire to Joseph Curtis and Alice, (nee Pinkney) His mother now a widow was living at 6 Abbey Terrace West Cliff, Whitby, Yorkshire at the time of his death.

GREEN William. Private, 1672, 11th Australian Infantry. Died of dysentery, 7th August 1915.
