Extended Description
Arthur Calvin BATHEL. Coxswain 3721548 United States Navy. Born 1921 in Lincoln, Lancaster, Nebraska to Frederick Daniel and Violet Bathel, nee Wallace, of Newport, Nebraska. 1930 residing with his parents and siblings at Kirkwood, Rock, Nebraska, USA. Killed by a guided bomb explosion on USS SAVANNAH and was flown to Malta along with 25 other men for burial.

Laid to rest in Plot F. Grave 116 Capuccini Military Cemetery.
He is now at rest in Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell Lincoln County Nebraska.
