In 1915 the White Motor Company designed and built this armoured car. Designed "Armoured Car No.2" By the Army, it was tested extensively at Rock Island Arsenal and saw extended sevice in the midwest. One of this cars, in poor condidtion, is on display at the Ordnance Museum at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Based on the 1 ton White commercial truck, it was hampered by excesssive weight (9000lbs.) and drive on the rear wheels only, although dual rear wheels were incorporated for better traction. The driver entered through a small hatch in front of the right rear fender, and he could expect the 36 horsepower four cylinder engine to propel the vehicle at a maximum of 40mph.
