Anzac Memorial at the Argotti Botanical Gardens in Floriana, Malta

Extended Description
BUNN Horace. Private, 12/1572, Auckland Regiment, New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Died of sickness, 25th September 1915, aged 35 years. He was the son of Robert and Rachel Bunn, of London. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
CAMERON John Stewart, Trooper, 13/567, Auckland Mounted Rifles, New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Died of his wounds, 17th August 1915 aged 31. He is at rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta. Some notes for his army records held with the New Zealand Archives. He joined up on the 28th August 1914. Born in Scotland about 1884 and was living at Aria Te Kuiti, New Zealand at the time of his enlistment. He was by occupation a Sawmill Proprietor . His next of kin was his father Hugh Cameron of Fernside Street, Fillans, Perthshire, Scotland, formerly of 136, Gilmore Place, Edinburgh, Scotland, his mother was called Jane. He embarked for the Egypt on the 16th October 1914 and later for the Balkans. He was shot and wounded in the chest in the Dardanelles and sent to a hospital in Malta where he died of a gunshot wound to a lung.
CAMMOCK William Roland. Lance Corporal, 10/1060, 9th Hawkes Bay Company, Wellington Regiment, N.Z.E.F. He joined up on the 14th August 1914 aged 20 years and 4 months . Embarked from New Zealand on H.M.N.Z.T no 7 for Alexandria, disembarking on the 4th December 1914. Promoted to Lance Corporal on the 12th May 1915, reported missing in action on the 8th August 1915. Admitted, wounded to 16 Casualty Clearing Station, and transferred to Mudros on the 10th August 1915. He was invalided to Malta on Hospital Ship, Gascon on the and died of his wounds to his pelvis which he received at Gallipoli, 16th August 1915 at Military Hospital, Floriana, Malta. Born 1st May 1894 to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cammock, of Kiretaki, Dannevirke, New Zealand., his occupation School Teacher At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
CRAIG Robert. Lance Sergeant, 9/262, Otago Mounted Rifles, N.Z.E.F. He was admitted to 16th Casualty Clearing Station, Anzac and transferred to Mudros on the 15th August 1915. He was invalided to Malta on Hospital Ship, Andania and died of enteric fever, 22nd August 1915, aged 24 years. He was born on the 16th November 1898 at Dipton, New Zealand to John and Isabella Craig, of The Bush, Caroline, Invercargill, New Zealand. Occupation prior to enlistment was a farmer. He joined the army on the 15th August 1914, embarked for the Alexandria on the 16th October 1914, disembarking on the 3rd December 1914. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
DENNISTON, Thomas Hillier. Sergeant, 3/195 Field Ambulance, New Zealand Ambulance Corps. He was transferred to a fleet sweeper at Anzac Cove to 7th July 1915 to 16 Stationary Hospital, Mudros. Died of enteric fever, 28th July 1915, aged 23 years. Born 19th January 1892, in Dunedin, New Zealand, the son of G. and E.B. Denniston, of Bond Street, Dunedin, New Zealand. His occupation prior to enlistment was a medical student and lived at 36 Melville Street, Dunedin. He joined up on the 19th August 1914, aged 22 years, embarked on H.M.N.Z.T no 8 on the 23 September 1914, disembarked at Egypt on the 6th December 1914. He is at rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
DOWNES Albert. Private, 16/508, New Zealand (Maori) Contingent. On the 29th August 1915 he was transferred to Hospital Ship, Ionian. Admitted to a military hospital in Malta on the 1st September 1915 suffering from dysentery and jaundice and died of enteric fever, 9th September 1915. He was born on the 5th January 1887 to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Downes, of Kohukohu, Hokianga, Auckland, New Zealand. He joined up on the 30th November 1914 aged 27 years and 11 months, embarked on NMNZT No 20 on the 10th January 1915, disembarked at Egypt on the 26th March 1915. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
EVERRETT Stewart Charles. Sergeant, 7/194, Canterbury M.R., N.Z.E.F. Died of enteric fever, 31st July 1915, aged 22 years. The son of Horatio and Elizabeth Jane Everett, of Umukuri, Nelson, New Zealand. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
FAIRS Cecil Sydney. Trooper, 13/327, Auckland Mounted Rifles , N.Z.E.F. Died of sickness, 5th October 1915. The son of Mrs. A. Fairs, of 17 St. Albans Avenue, Dominion Road, Auckland, New Zealand. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
FALDER George Victor Wakefield. Gunner, 2/873, 2nd Battery. N.Z. Field Artillery. Died of enteric fever, 27th July 1915in Imtarfa Hospital, Malta. The son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Falder, of 14 Percival Street, Wellington, New Zealand, formerly of Kahouri Bridge, Stratford, Wellington. He enlisted on the 10th November 1914 at Trentham , embarked New Zealand on the 14th December 1914, disembarked at Egypt on the 29th January 1915, On the 18th July 1915 fell ill at Anzac, sent to Malta on hospital ship, Gascon the same day, admitted into Imtarfa Hospital on the 24th July and died on the 27th July 1915. At rest in Pieta Cemetery, Malta.
FOSTER William. Trooper, 9/698, Otago M.R., N.Z.E.F. Died of enteric fever, 16th November 1915, aged 27 years. He was the son of Christina and the late Edward Foster, of Lowburn Ferry, Cromwell, Central Otago. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
FRANCIS Gilbert Bryan. , Private, 10/2138, Wellington Regiment, N.Z.E.F. Died of enteric fever, 13th November 1915, aged 28 years. The son of the Reverend David Francis, of Llandygwydd Vicarage, Cardiganshire. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
FRAZER Robert McKinley. Trooper, 9/820, Otago Mounted Rifles, N.Z.E.F. Died of enteric fever, 4th September 1915, aged 24 years. The son of John and Jane Frazer, of Stirling, Otago, New Zealand. At rest in Pieta military Cemetery, Malta.
