Alfred William MELVILLE

MELVILLE, Alfred William. Seaman Steward LT/JX222218, Royal Naval Patrol Service on H.M. Trawler, Relonzo died 20th January 1941 aged 36. He was the son of William and Elizabeth and he was the husband of Rose Lillie of Chesham, Buckinghamshire. (Wills and Admin, Ancestry) He lived at 5, High Street, Chesham, Buckinghamshire. His effects went to his wife and Samuel Berry, monotype operator. He is at rest in Landican Cemetery, Birkenhead, Cheshire. (History of H.M.Trawler, Relonzo) Requisitioned April 1939 as auxilliary patrol vessel, 1940 converted to minesweeper, joined 136th M/S Group at Birkenhead, sunk by mine in Crosby Channel, Liverpool
