Rifleman Albert Henry HEMMINGS No. S/27902 16th Bn. Rifle Brigade
Died 14 February 1917 aged 19

Son of Heneage and Mary Hemmings, of The Masons Arms, Pebworth, Stratford-on-Avon.
He joined up aged 18 years and 4 months 4 May 1916 and was posted to army reserve. He resided at the Mason Arms, Pebworth with his parents, occupation butcher. 4 February 1916 he was posted to 11th Gloucestershire Regiment at the Regimental Depot at Horfield, Bristol and given number 28220. 16 November 1916 he was transferred to the Rifle Brigade , army number S/27902. He embarked for France 18 November 1916 embarking from Southampton disembarking the same day at Le Havre and sent to 47 Infantry Base Depot at Le Harve to await dispersal to his regiment. He was put on the nominal roll for the 16th Rifle Brigade 2 December 1916 and posted the his unit on the 5th. 14 February 1917 he was killed in action.
Commemorated at Ypres Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium.

Died 7 December 1914 aged 27 at Tidworth Military Hospital.
Son of Heneage and Mary Hemmings, of The Mason's Arms, Pebworth.
At rest at Pebworth St Peter Churchyard, Worcestershire.
