Died 18 May 1918 aged 35 at a hospital in Edmonton from the effects of Gas Poisoning.

His widow, Alice was granted a war gratuity 24 August 1918 revised 19 November 1919. The UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929,

At rest at Hanley Stoke-on-Trent Cemetery, Staffordshire.
