Agnes McDOUGALL. CAMC, 10 Canadian Stationary Hospital, Calais. Born 8 October 1872 at Westminster Township, Ontario.

Enlisted 25 May 1916 at London, Ontario, Canada. She fell ill and was invalided to home. She died after suffering six months with cancer of her ovaries 18 July 1919 aged 46 at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario. At rest in Aylmer Cemetery, Ontario, Canada.

Born 8 October 1872. Next of kin, her sister, Mrs C.M. Bennett of Court Recorders Office, Cleveland, Ohio, USA., she was resident at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario. Her brother, John was residing at 510-11th Street, Sackatoon, Canada.

Enlisted May 1916, Medical 25 May 1916 and joined No 10 Canadian Stationary Hospital same day. 15 July 1916 she embarked for France from Shorecliffe Camp, Kent and was taken on strength the same day into 36 Canadian Stationary Hospital, Boulogne. She fell ill 14 October 1918 and admitted into 35 Canadian General Hospital. Invalided to England 17 October 1918 suffering from menorrhagia and dysmenorrhoea, (medical term for painful periods) on H.M.Hospital Ship, S.S. Brighton and admitted into at the Queen Alexandra’s Nurses Hospital, 71 Vincent Square, Westminster, London, England. 21 October 1918 transferred to Canadian Red Cross Special Hospital, Buxton (Now Buxton Museum and Art Gallery) 26 November 1918 she was discharged being medically unfit for any service for 6 months and returned to Canada from Liverpool on S.S. Araguaya (Royal Mail Steam Packet Company) She was admitted into Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario. 6 January 1919 she underwent an operation to have both ovaries, tubes and broad ligaments removed. Carcinomatous purulent conditions found at operation around ovaries and tubes. She succumbed to the disease 18 July 1919.
