A.04.04 Thomas George BUTLER. Gunner 10011 Royal Garrison Artillery stationed at Fort St Elmo, Valletta, Malta. Born 24 November 1884 in Enfield and baptised 11 January 1885 at James Church, Enfield, London to Alice Rose and George Butler. He started school aged 8 years on the 6 March 1893 in Sidney Road, School, Hackney. 6 April 1895 aged 10 years he was an inmate aged 10 years along with his mother aged 28 years and widowed and his sister Martha Beatrice aged 7 years at Hackney Union Poor House. Enlisted 13 January 1902, civilian occupation, labourer. Died at Fort St Elmo, Malta 6th July 1908 aged 24 years. The following were granted a gratuity on the 26 October 1908. His mother, sisters Alice R and Martha Beatrice, half-brother George and half-sister Sarah.
A.04.04 James Henry FLETCHER. Driver 10393, Army Service Corps. Born 1870 at Plumstead, Woolwich, London to John and Sarah Ann Fletcher nee Stokes. 1881 he was residing with his parents and siblings at 52 Princess Road, Plumstead. Enlisted 29 October 1891, civilian occupation, carman. Died in Valletta, Malta 4th September 1908. The following were granted a gratuity on the 30 November 1908. Brothers Edward, Joseph, George, and Herbert and sister, Phyllis.
Both at rest in an unmarked burial in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta Plot A Row 04 Grave 4.
