HMS Dragon, the Royal Navy's latest Type 45 Destroyer, was launched on Clydeside yesterday. It was a wet and miserable day, but there was still a good turnout of spectators for the launch.
The painted dragon on the bow is to represent her affiliation with the city of Cardiff.
HMS Dragon is the fourth ship of the Type 45 or Daring-class air-defencedestroyers built for the Royal Navy. She was launched in November 2008 and commissioned on 20 April 2012
