Born 1863 at Romford, Essex to John and Susan Jackson, nee Barker. 1871 -1891 resided with his widowed mother and siblings at 4 Mowneys Lane Romford. His father died 1867, mother 1892. He enlisted 1 May 1901 civilian occupation, clerk, died 3rd October 1903, aged 40 years. His brother Frank was next of kin. The following were granted a gratuity on the 18 December 1903.
