This crest appears on a commerative cup given to me recently. I know what it is, when and what it was made for. Can anyone identify what the crest is? AND, if you can provide a transcription/translation of the script on the scroll, you'll really impress me! (Because I haven't a clue!)

Well done Hollis, definitely navy (not Singapore) and Indonesia's getting warmer too, just think a bit smaller.

Right, let's try to put this one to bed!

There were 3 of them and quite a bit of controversy about them, leading to a long dispute over payment, which was only recently resolved, of sorts.

Spot on, Arctic Wolf! Well done and thanks for helping to remind me about this one!
The crest is that of the Royal Brunei Navy and this cup was made and given out as a 'freebie', to celebrate the launch of Offshore Patrol Vessel 'KDB Nakhoda Ragam', the first of 3 vessels which became the subject of much controversy when the Sultan of Brunei reneged on the deal.

The Royal Brunei Navy was established on 14 June 1965, the second unit created after The Royal Brunei Armed Forces. RBN is based in Muara, Brunei. Ships names are prefixed KDB as in Kapal Diraja Brunei.
