Russia delivering huge consignment of BTR-80’s to Bangladesh Army | Bangladesh Military Forces - BDMilitary.com
armoured personnel carriers and 10 BREM-K wheeled Armoured Recovery Vehicles were spotted by Russian military equipment enthusiasts in the Yaroslav region. The newly built BTR-80’s painted in white with UN markings are heading to St Petersburg for shipping to Bangladesh.

Arzamas Machine Building Plant (AMA) is set to deliver 330 BTR-80 armoured vehicles in various configurations including basic armoured personnel carrier and infantry fighting vehicle fitted with large calibre cannon. It is the largest single export by AMA in recent years.

It may be mentioned the Bangladesh Army is the largest operator of BTR-80 Armoured Personnel Carriers in the world outside Russia. Variants such as ambulance, personnel carrier, command vehicle, recovery vehicle and infantry fighting vehicle are operated by the Bangladesh Army.

The BTR-80 proved to be highly reliable, effective and economic for the Bangladesh Army. BTR-80 parts are now locally produced in Bangladesh to facilitate rapid availability of line items.
