I have speaking to a gentleman called Nigel Rumble over the past couple of months about the Air Fighting Development Unit (AFDU) that moved to RAF Duxford at the end of 1940, it had the job of evaluating new aircraft types including captured enemy aircraft.

In fact one of the images I posted onto the site in my early days was a Bf109

He has told me his father flow this aircraft a number of times (he sent me a copy of his fathers logbook).

He has some information which he has got from his father, what he is after is anyone who has anymore information, any images or documention about the AFDU during that period.
I have his email address and I'm willing to pass it onto anyone who can help.

Thanks

AFDU at Duxford WWII

As a member of the Old Dux Ass. and Newsletter editor I happened on this forum and am at this time editing memoirs of an ex member of that team. I came across the name 'Tubby' Rumble Flt. Comm. among the names listed at that time. That's really all I have.
Regards,
John Cross.
